FlagSeek FAQ
Questions people ask before they begin.
FlagSeek is a new kind of tailored report suite: personalized relocation intelligence reports built around your life, not generic country rankings. These answers explain how the reports work and which one may fit your next decision.
Choosing the right report
Which FlagSeek report should I start with?+
Start with the report that matches the decision you are facing right now. If you are still deciding where to focus, start with Country Match. If you already have one serious country in mind, use Deep Dive. If you are choosing between two serious countries, use Compare. If you have chosen a destination and want help turning it into a practical plan, use Action Plan.
Do I have to start with Country Match?+
No. Match is the cleanest starting point if the world still feels too wide. But if you already know your target country, Deep Dive may be more direct. If two countries are competing, Compare may be the better fit. If you are ready to plan the move, Action Plan is designed for that later stage.
Can I buy more than one report?+
Yes. The reports are designed to stand alone, but they also work naturally as a ladder. You might start with Country Match, buy a Deep Dive on a serious country, compare two finalists, and then use Action Plan once the direction becomes clearer.
What if I choose the wrong report?+
The Tailored Reports page is designed to help you choose, and each report page explains what that report is best for. If you are unsure, Match is usually the safest first step because it creates a focused shortlist before you invest in deeper analysis.
How personalization works
Are FlagSeek reports generic country guides?+
No. FlagSeek reports are shaped around your questionnaire answers and the report context for the product you purchased. The goal is to connect country realities to your actual life, priorities, constraints, budget, household, health needs, preferences, and tolerance for complexity.
What is the Global Fit Framework?+
The Global Fit Framework is FlagSeek's structured way of evaluating country fit. It looks at how a country's systems, costs, tradeoffs, lifestyle conditions, healthcare access, visa/residency considerations, infrastructure, climate, safety, and daily-life friction may interact with someone like you.
Why do I need to complete a questionnaire?+
The questionnaire gives FlagSeek the personal context needed to tailor your report. Without that information, the report would become a generic overview. Your answers help the analysis focus on what may actually matter for your decision.
Can I reuse my questionnaire?+
Yes. Your questionnaire is reusable across FlagSeek reports. If you already have a completed questionnaire on file, you may be able to use it as-is or edit it before generating a new report.
After purchase
What happens after I buy a report?+
After purchase, you will either complete the questionnaire, use a questionnaire already on file, or confirm report-specific details such as the target country or countries. Then FlagSeek prepares the report and your report status appears in My Reports.
Why do some reports ask me to select a country before checkout?+
Country-specific reports need report context before payment. Deep Dive requires one target country. Compare requires two countries. Action Plan requires the destination the plan should cover. The reusable questionnaire describes you, while the selected country or countries describe this specific purchase.
Where do I find my report after purchase?+
Your purchases, questionnaires, report status, and completed reports live in My Reports. Use the My Reports link in the site header after signing in.
How long does report generation take?+
Timing can vary by product and workload. Some reports may be prepared quickly, while premium reports can take longer because they involve deeper, section-by-section generation and review. When a report is ready, you can access it from My Reports.
Report differences
What does Country Match give me?+
Country Match gives you a reasoned shortlist: your Top 3 best-fit countries plus 1 strategic wildcard. It is designed to narrow the world before you go deeper.
What does Deep Dive give me?+
Deep Dive analyzes one country through the lens of your personal situation. It helps you pressure-test whether that country appears to fit your needs, priorities, and constraints in practice.
What does Compare give me?+
Compare looks at two countries side by side so the real tradeoffs become easier to see. It is designed for people choosing between two serious options.
What does Action Plan give me?+
Action Plan helps turn a chosen destination into a practical relocation path. It is FlagSeek's premier retirement-abroad planning report and its most comprehensive option for sequencing, next steps, risks, logistics, healthcare, long-term care, taxes, estate and survivor issues, and implementation.
Retirement abroad
Does FlagSeek provide retirement-specific guidance?+
Yes. FlagSeek connects retirement income, residence pathways, healthcare, insurance, taxes, housing, estate and survivor planning, long-term care, and everyday practicality. The analysis is shaped by your questionnaire answers rather than by a generic retiree profile.
Which FlagSeek report is best for retirement planning?+
Country Match is best if you are still deciding which countries deserve attention. Deep Dive pressure-tests one country. Compare weighs two serious options. Action Plan is FlagSeek's premier retirement-abroad planning report and provides the most comprehensive personalized roadmap once you have chosen a likely destination.
Can FlagSeek help if retirement is still many years away?+
Yes. Retirement may still be years away, but a long-term or permanent move should be tested against the healthcare, accessibility, care, social-support, housing, and fallback needs you may have later. FlagSeek can treat those as long-horizon planning issues without assuming that you are already retired.
Does FlagSeek assume I am retired if I receive a pension or public benefit?+
No. A person may be retired without receiving public pension income, and a person may receive pension or public-benefit income while still working. FlagSeek separates self-described work stage, income source, retirement assets, distribution status, public benefits, and long-term planning horizon.
Does FlagSeek consider pension and retirement-income taxation?+
Yes. When relevant, the report can examine whether the destination may tax pensions, Social Security or similar public benefits, retirement-account withdrawals, annuities, investment income, rental income, and other support. It also flags tax-residence, treaty, reporting, currency, and inflation questions that should be verified with qualified professionals.
Does FlagSeek evaluate healthcare and long-term care?+
Yes. Depending on your answers, the report can address healthcare eligibility, private insurance, age limits, medication and specialist continuity, aging in place, home care, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, palliative care, hospice, geography, affordability, waiting periods, contribution requirements, means testing, and private-pay reality.
What if the long-term-care concern is for someone else in my household?+
FlagSeek should not assume that a selected care need belongs to you. The report can consider care, accessibility, authority, dependency, and household logistics for a spouse, partner, child, parent, or another household member when the questionnaire establishes who is affected.
Does FlagSeek address estate, incapacity, survivor, and inheritance issues?+
Yes. Action Plan can flag cross-border questions involving wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, beneficiary designations, property, inheritance, succession, incapacity, survivor finances, and whether a surviving spouse or partner can remain in the country if residence depended on a principal applicant or recognized relationship.
Can FlagSeek tell me whether I qualify for a retirement or passive-income visa?+
No report can guarantee qualification. FlagSeek can identify retiree, pensioner, passive-income, asset-supported, or other residence pathways that may be worth investigating based on your facts, explain the apparent requirements and tradeoffs, and tell you what to verify through official sources or qualified immigration professionals.
Is FlagSeek providing legal, tax, medical, or financial advice for retirees?+
No. FlagSeek provides planning intelligence and issue-spotting. It can help you understand what matters, what could change the answer, and which exact questions to take to legal, tax, immigration, medical, insurance, estate-planning, or financial professionals.
Partner Program
Who is the FlagSeek Partner Program for?+
The Partner Program is designed for trusted voices whose audiences are seriously considering relocation, retirement abroad, remote work abroad, or long-term life outside the United States. Good-fit partners may include relocation consultants, YouTube creators, newsletter writers, bloggers, financial planners, tax professionals, immigration-adjacent professionals, and community leaders.
How does the FlagSeek Partner Program work?+
After you apply and FlagSeek approves your application, a private Partner Dashboard is created for you. From the dashboard, you can personalize the public name your audience sees, review your referral link and customer discount code, set up Stripe payouts, access promotional materials, and track attribution and commissions. Eligible purchases made through your tracked referral path or approved discount code are recorded in FlagSeek's system and reviewed before payout.
What commission does FlagSeek offer partners?+
FlagSeek's standard partner offer is 40% of eligible digital report revenue after the customer's partner discount is applied. Eligible revenue excludes print, binding, shipping, fulfillment, taxes, reprints, refunds, chargebacks, fraud, self-referrals, and purchases that violate the Partner Program terms.
Can you give me a concrete commission example?+
Yes. Suppose a customer purchases a $199 Action Plan using your partner discount code. The customer receives 10% off and pays $179.10 for the eligible digital report. Your 40% commission on that discounted amount is $71.64. After the holding period and review requirements are satisfied, the commission becomes eligible for payout through Stripe.
Do customers receive a discount through partner codes?+
Yes. The standard public partner offer gives the customer 10% off an eligible digital FlagSeek report when the customer uses an approved partner discount code.
Why is there a 30-day holding period?+
FlagSeek holds partner commissions for 30 days before they become payable. This allows time to account for refunds, chargebacks, disputes, fraud, payment reversals, and other situations in which a purchase may no longer qualify for commission. The purpose is to resolve those issues before commissions are included in a payout batch whenever reasonably possible.
How and when are partner commissions paid?+
Eligible commissions are reviewed and grouped into monthly payout batches after the applicable holding period. Stripe, FlagSeek's payment and payout provider, deposits approved payouts into the bank account the partner chooses during Stripe onboarding. A commission shown as pending has been tracked but is still inside the review period. A payable commission is eligible for an upcoming payout batch, and a paid commission has been marked paid.
Does FlagSeek receive my bank account information?+
Stripe handles the hosted payout-onboarding process. FlagSeek does not collect or store your online-banking password. Stripe collects the payout information needed to verify your account and send funds to the bank account you select. Partners should review the information and permissions shown by Stripe during onboarding before connecting an account.
What if I do not want to connect the bank account I use for everyday expenses?+
You may ask your bank or credit union about opening a separate checking account used only for FlagSeek commissions or other business-related deposits. This is optional, not a FlagSeek requirement. Some partners may prefer a separate account for peace of mind, simpler bookkeeping, or clearer tax records. Account availability, fees, and account-opening requirements vary by financial institution.
Can Stripe ever debit a connected bank account?+
Stripe's connected-account terms and configuration can permit recovery of negative balances in certain circumstances, including some refund or dispute situations. FlagSeek's 30-day holding period is intended to identify and resolve refunds, chargebacks, and similar problems before commissions become payable whenever reasonably possible. Partners should review Stripe's connected-account terms during onboarding. A partner who prefers additional separation may choose to use a dedicated checking account for partner income.
How do I know whether a customer purchase was credited to me?+
Your Partner Dashboard shows recent attribution activity and your commission ledger. Attribution may come from your tracked referral link, your approved public discount code, or another recognized partner-attribution path. The dashboard distinguishes pending, payable, paid, and reversed or adjusted commissions so you can see where each recorded commission stands.
What referral tools do approved partners receive?+
Approved partners receive a tracked referral link and a public discount code. The dashboard also provides promotional assets and suggested materials that can be used to explain FlagSeek to an audience. Partners should use the approved link or code so eligible purchases can be attributed correctly.
Can I choose the public name used in my referral link and discount code?+
Yes. After approval, you can personalize your public identity once from the Partner Dashboard. You can use the name of your website or YouTube channel, your first or last name, or another identifier you choose. As you type, the dashboard shows how that name changes both your referral link and your public discount code, and it checks availability before you save.
Where is my Partner Dashboard after approval?+
After FlagSeek approves your application, sign in using the same email address you used on the application. Your private Partner Dashboard can then be found at the link below. If the dashboard does not recognize your approved account, first confirm that you signed in with the same email address.
Open the Partner DashboardDo I need to pay taxes on partner commissions?+
Partner commissions may be taxable income. Tax treatment, reporting obligations, deductions, forms, and business-registration requirements depend on your location and circumstances. FlagSeek does not provide tax advice. Keep your payout and commission records and consult a qualified tax professional when appropriate.
Can I review a sample before applying?+
Yes. FlagSeek provides public sample reports so prospective partners can evaluate the quality, depth, style, and usefulness of the reports before deciding whether FlagSeek is a good fit for their audience.
Review FlagSeek sample reportsDoes FlagSeek replace consultants, lawyers, tax professionals, or local experts?+

It can make conversations with qualified professionals more focused, but it does not replace licensed legal, tax, immigration, medical, financial, or local professional advice.
